Notes

-A rare sight in the PCL as the Topes were shut out. Scott Van Slyke, who's reached base safely 7 times in his first 3 games, singled and walked. Alex Castellanos committed a crucial throwing error, leading to 4 unearned runs in the first inning. Jerry Sands continues to struggle to find his swing.

-The Lookouts finally decided to start hitting, posting a 10 spot against the Smokies. Kyle Russell and J T Wise led the way with 3 hits a piece. Jake Lemmerman added a pair. Aaron Miller had a brief outing but left relatively unscathed. Luis Vasquez and Shawn Tolleson struck out two a piece.

-A four run 6th, capped by Tony Delmonico's triple, was the difference for the Quakes in their first win. Tyler Henson, received in the Dana Eveland deal, homered and stole a base. Garrett Gould allowed 3 runs on 7 hits but also struck out 7 while only recording 1 walk. Scott McGough got the win and Logan Bawcom got the save, each recording 3 strikeouts in 2 innings.

-The Loons' offense couldn't get going in either end of their games. Last year's 36th round draft pick, Kevin Taylor, went 2 for 3 with a stolen base in the first game. Jesus Arredondo went 3 for 3 with a double and a walk. In Game 2, the Loons took an early lead after Arredondo drew a leadoff walk and was cashed in on a Scott Schelber double. However, starter Matt Laney would allow 3 runs in the bottom of the second. Great Lakes scratched back to tie the game in the 6th but Ryan O'Sullivan would allow a one out walk to steal second and come around to score to end the game.
