-Scott Van Slyke continued his torrid starts, collecting his 2nd double of the young season. He now has 5 extra base hits in his first 5 games (2 doubles, 3 home runs). Alex Castellanos also doubled and walked twice, but committed another error while playing second base. It was a throwing error, so hopefully Alex can continue to progress at second.

-Nathan Eovaldi had a strong debut, giving up just 1 run in 5 innings, He pitched himself into a jam in the 4th, but did a nice job mitigating the damage. J.T. Wise had a pair of hits and is now batting .462 through the first 5 games of the year. Steve Ames took the loss, allowing the go-ahead run in the top of the 9th.

-Rancho saw the 2012 season debut of Angel Sanchez, who last pitched in Dodger Stadium against the Angels in spring training. Tonight, he went 5 strong innings, allowing just 1 run on 3 hits and a walk while striking out 4. Leon Landry doubled, Chris O'Brien singled twice. Juan Rodriguez allowed a run in an inning and two thirds while allowing both his inherited runners to score.

-The Loons' offense just can't get going. Pratt Maynard tried his best to jumpstart the bats, doubling twice and drawing a walk. Scott Schebler also doubled, while Jesus Arredondo singled and walked. Gustavo Gomez struggled, allowing 5 runs in 2 innings. Eric Eadington went 3 innings and gave up just 1 run. Recommended Stories
