Apparently I'm bad luck. Angel Sanchez allows what I believe to be a career high 7 runs the first time I see him live. My bad.

Notes

-The Topes got a nice start from Mike Parisi, who earned his first win of the season. Elian Herrera was the offensive player of the game, collecting 3 hits, including 2 doubles. That accounted for half the team's hits. Trent Oeltjen singled, Luis Cruz doubled and Parisi himself had a base hit. Castellanos failed to collect a hit but reached base twice, raising his OBP to .446.

-Chris Withrow made his season debut and had an up and down outing. He allowed three straight singles in the second with 2 outs but didn't allow a run. Then in the 5th, he allowed 2 hits and 2 walks before coming out. Geison Aguasviva came in with 1 out and the bases loaded and induced an inning ending double play. Unfortunately, Aguasviva would allow a run in the 6th and Ames would do the same in the 7th, ultimately taking the loss. The Lookouts got just 4 hits, all singles. Griff Erickson had two, with Wise and Smith picking up the other pair.

-To say that Angel Sanchez had a tough night would be an understatement. He showed good velocity on his fastball and a pair of promising secondary offerings but missed up and over the plate too much. More on him on Monday. Scott Wingo was very impressive, tripling twice on hard hit balls and driving in a run on a line drive single. Austin Gallagher showed a good eye at the plate, while Jon Garcia, in spite of his 2 hits, did not. He struck out in both of his final at bats on fastballs at eye level. Nick Akins also singled twice. Jordan Roberts pitched 3.2 perfect innings, working with an 87-88mph fastball, a changeup and a slow curve. Greg Wilborn, another lefty, bumped 92 on the gun but allowed a run in the 9th.

-It's 7/11 for the Loons, or rather, 11/7. After scoring 11 runs yesterday, they scored 7 today to push themselves over the .500 mark. Kevin Taylor led the way on offense with 3 hits, including a double. James Baldwin had a pair of infield singles that he turned into doubles with his 2nd and 3rd stolen bases of the season. On the mound, Arismendy Ozoria went 5 solid innings, though he walked 5 and struck out just 1. Jose Dominguez dominated until the 9th, when he allowed the first three batters to reach and was pulled. Eric Eadington struck out the side, though Joe Winker committed an error that forced in another run. I expect both Dominguez and Eadington to be in Rancho or Chattanooga by midseason.
