-The Topes got yet another strong start out of Will Savage, who is now a perfect 6-0 with a 3.22 ERA. Josh Wall picked up the save, striking out 3 of the 4 batters he faced. SVS collected his 9th double, accounting for 2 of the team's 5 hits. Old friend Trayvon Robinson was batting leadoff for the Rainiers.
-Nathan Eovaldi had a tough game, proving to be too hittable to be effective. The Lookouts also struggled to get men on base, totaling just 5 hits as well. Kyle Russell singled and walked. J Lem also drew a walk and now has 6 in his last 7 games.
-Chris Reed missed his second straight start but Jon Michael Redding filled in admirably, allowing just 2 runs in 5 innings. However, Logan Bawcom allowed a triple in the 8th to tie the game, then followed with a wild pitch that allowed the go-ahead run to score. Leon Landry had two hits for the third straight game. He was also caught stealing for the first time this year. Joc Pederson has hit safely in 7 of his last 10.
-In what figured to be a pitcher's duel, Jose Dominguez and Archie Bradley each struggled. The Loons hitter to get to Bradley the most? Pedro Guerrero. His third inning home run was the first Archie has allowed in his pro career. Noel Cuevas is on a hot streak right now, batting .389 over his last 10 games. His 8th inning single put the team ahead for good. Yimi Garcia ran into some trouble in the 9th, allowing runners on the corners with no outs, but struck out the side to seal the deal. He also struck out the side in the 8th.
