-Mike Parisi with another nice start, pitching for the first time since May 7th. His ERA is now 2.57. Unfortunately, Fernando Nieve allowed 7 runs (6 earned) in 3 innings to let the game slip away. The Topes attempted to mount a comeback, with BCG and Luis Cruz leading the charge, but ultimately fell short. Jerry Hairston started in left field and played 5 innings. Aaron Miles played second base.
-Aaron Miller didn't have his best outing but still managed to earn his 3rd win of the year after the offense scored 5 runs in the 6th, his last inning of work. Red Patterson, Steve Ames and Logan Bawcom all chipped in a scoreless inning each and all three have ERAs under 2. At the plate, Miller helped his own cause with a double. Lemmerman, Wise, Erickson and Baez all doubled as well. Nick Buss tripled and Brahiam Maldonado (awesome name) hit his first homer with the Lookouts.
-More drama in Michigan as the Loons scored single runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th innings to mount yet another come from behind win. Great Lakes was the beneficiary of some poor defensive play, especially at the end of the game. In the 7th, Pratt Maynard singled and took second on a passed ball. He'd score on the next play. In the 9th, Jesse Bosnik's single would turn into a double thanks to an error. When Pedro Guerrero attempted to sacrifice him to third, the opposing pitcher tried to nail Bosnik but threw the ball away and Jesse came home to score the winning run. In other news, O'Koyea Dickson just keeps hitting and is now batting .390/.479/.695. I doubt that he's still in Great Lakes in a month.
