The Dodgers have finalized a nine player deal with the Boston Red Sox.

The Dodgers announced that they have completed a nine player trade with the Boston Red Sox on Saturday afternoon.

The Dodgers will acquire first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, outfielder Carl Crawford, pitcher Josh Beckett and infielder Nick Punto from the Red Sox.

The Red Sox will receive first baseman James Loney, pitchers Rubby De La Rosa and Allen Webster, outfielder Jerry Sands and infielder Ivan De Jesus.

With this move, the Dodgers shore up the offense and pitching staff for a playoff run, as well as adding bench depth and a potentially healthy Crawford in 2013. The Red Sox shed over $250 million in salaries while acquiring two promising arms and young bats.
