Edwin Jackson was back in action Friday night. Only two innings, true, but a rather encouraging two at that. So much so that the Dodgers are thinking that could be enough rehabilitation and perhaps back to the big leagues for the promising right-hander is the next order of business.

Jackson went those innings for Las Vegas at Tucson , giving up two hits, no runs, walking none and striking out one. He seemed to have his velocity and his command, something that had deserted him before he was shut down with a muscle strain in his pitching arm. .
