Each month, the the Los Angeles Dodgers organization selects a Pitcher and Player of the Month, The May winners include Double-A Jacksonville reliever Casey Hoorelbeke and Class A Columbus outfielder Andrew Locke.

Hoorelbeke pitched 19 innings of relief in May, allowing eight hits with 15 strikeouts and holding opposing batters to a .136 batting average. He earned four saves with a 0.00 ERA. On the year, he has 38 innings, a 0.24 ERA by allowing two runs (one earned), striking out 30 and holding the opposition to a .146 batting average while earning six saves in 27 appearances. He was a non-drafted free agent out of Lewis & Clark State (Idaho) in August 2003.

In 28 games in May, Locke batted .375 (42-for-112), with eight doubles, three triples, three home runs and 34 RBIs. He had a 15-game hitting streak from May 16-30 and was the South Atlantic League Player of the Week for May 22-28, when he hit .519 (14-for-27) with two homers, 10 runs and 10 RBI. Locke, named to the 2006 Southern League South Division All-Star Team, was selected by the Dodgers in the 19th round of the June 2005 First-Year Player Draft out of Boston College.
