The Dodgers got shutout pitching from five pitchers and Delwyn Young, Tony Abreu and Jason Repko smacked homers in the victory.
Tony Abreu, batting ninth, homered in the third and added a two-run double in the fourth, boosting his average to .417. A pair of solo home runs by Delwyn Young in the second and Abreu in the third gave the Dodgers a 2-0 lead.
Jason Repko opened the fifth inning with a home run, his first of the spring. In a three-run seventh, Andre Either, who is now hitting .467, Wilson Betemit (who collected his first hit of the season) and Young had RBI singles.
Starter Eric Stults allowed three hits in three scoreless innings for the Dodgers. Elmer Dessens and rookie Mike Megrew added a pair of shutout innings. Tim Hamulak and Zach Hammes finished out the win.
Los Angeles improved to 5-4, Florida slipped to 1-7-1. The two teams will meet Thursday evening in Vero Beach with Derek Lowe drawing the start for the Dodgers.
