Jewish Women International (JWI) has selected Jamie McCourt as a 2007 'Women to Watch honoree' for her phenomenal business sense and her philanthropic accomplishments.

McCourt is the highest ranking female executive in baseball today, as vice chairman and president of the Los Angeles Dodgers. In this position, McCourt oversees the strategic planning and development for the franchise.

A member of the Washington Speakers Bureau and a visiting professor at the UCLA Anderson School of Management, teaching a course titled “The Pursuit of Leadership: A Female Perspective,” McCourt is an active member of the Los Angeles business community and serves on numerous boards and commissions.  She was recently honored by the American Friends of Hebrew University with the prestigious SCOPUS Award for her philanthropic efforts.   McCourt is one of 10 women from across the United States who will be profiled in the fall issue of Jewish Woman magazine and honored December 3, 2007 at the annual Women to Watch gala luncheon, awards ceremony and Up Close & Personal honorees’ discussion.  The event will take place at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.  This year, JWI and Jewish Woman celebrate 10 years of the award.  For more information, please visit www.jwi.org.

Each fall, Jewish Woman profiles a new class of feminine heroes—ten “Women to Watch,” dubbed so for their inspiring work in art, culture and community … business, politics and media … family, science and spirituality.  Since 1998, the Women to Watch award has been bestowed on 90 talented, dynamic and diverse Jewish women who encompass the same visionary spirit of those in the pages of history.

Selected for their unique contributions across a wide array of professions, the other honorees are: Mary Jo Barrett, Chicago, IL; Miri Ben-Ari, New York, NY; Elisa Spungen Bildner, Montclair, NJ; Toby Graff, New York, NY; Marla Letizia, Las Vegas, NV; Molly Levinson, New York, NY; Monica Levinson, Los Angeles, CA; Debra Neiman, Boston, MA and Lynn Shapiro Snyder, Rockville, MD.

Community Leadership Award recipient Vivian G. Bass, CEO of Jewish Foundation for Group Homes (JFGH), an organization that provides homes, supervised apartments, and other living arrangements for adults with disabilities.  JFGH has become a model for more than 25 Jewish communities on five continents.  Bass was recently named one of Washingtonian magazine’s “Washingtonian of the Year.”
