Each week, LAdugout.com reports on how Dodger players are faring in the various winter leagues that are now in operation. Those leagues are the Mexican Pacific, Dominican and Venezuelan.
MEXICAN PACIFIC
- Jesus Rodriguez continues to have a most impressive winter. Made into a starter, he's among the league leaders with a 5-0 record and a 2.53 ERA. Mauricio Tequila is one of the top closers as well. He's recorded six saves, has a 1-1 record and a 1.78 ERA. Francisco Felix boasts an 0.84 ERA despite a 1-2 mark. Thomas Melgarejo is 1-1, 4.15.
Among the hitters, Gabriel Gutierrez is averaging .270 with no home runs. Sergio Garcia has now hit two homers but has a .208 average.
DOMINICAN
- John Lindsey has hit his first homer since coming over from Mexico to this league but is still managing only a .167 mark. On the mound, Marlon Arias has managed to get into only two games with no won-loss record and a 9.00 ERA while Ramon Troncosco hasn't seem any action recently. He's 0-1, 21.60 in two games.
VENEZUELAN
- Catcher Juan Apodaca hasn't been used much but is doing well when he gets in there. He sports a .375 average and has hit his first homer. Eddie Perez at .167 and Juan Gonzalez at .214 are both idled.
Jonanthan Figueroa continues to suffer on the mound and has dropped to 1-5, 6.75. Joey Norrito is 2-2, 4.78, Alberto Bastardo is 0-2, 4.19 and Miguel Pinango is 0-1, 3.86.
