Thursday, May 22, the seventh annual Dodgers Dream Foundation Charity Golf Invitational at Trump National Golf Club will take place and include current Dodger players and Dodger legends from the 1960s.
A special '60s-themed fireworks spectacular presented will follow the game on Friday night, May 23 and the pregame ceremonies on Saturday, May 24 will honor several other Dodger legends from the 1960s, including former players Tommy Davis, Maury Wills, “Sweet” Lou Johnson, Ron Fairly, Wes Parker, and Steve Garvey, among others.
The Dodgers will also host a special meet-and-greet luncheon at Dodger Stadium with the ‘60s legends before the game on Saturday. Tickets will be on sale at the stadium starting Monday.
The ‘60s celebration will conclude on Sunday, May 25 with On-Field Photo Day, where fans will get the chance to take pictures with their favorite current Dodgers, as well as legends from the 1960s, before the game.
Other promotions throughout the homestand will include a free Universal Studios Hollywood kids ticket on Monday and baseball cards for kids on Topps Tuesday, both for children age 14 and under.
The Chinese Olympic Baseball Team will also pay a visit to Dodger Stadium on Monday, along with their manager, former Dodger Jim Lefebvre, who won the NL Rookie of the Year in 1965.
The team is in town for a series against the Long Beach Armada, managed by former Dodger Steve Yeager, and will take batting practice at Dodger Stadium before tonight’s game. Madame Shen Wei, the Secretary General of the Chinese Baseball Association, will throw out a ceremonial first pitch.
Former Dodger Don Sutton, who debuted with the team in 1966 and went on to a Hall of Fame career in which he became the winningest pitcher in franchise history, will also be honored tonight for his work with his new educational program, “Stay In The Game,” which empowers people affected by kidney cancer to seek support, resources, and information about the disease.
Sutton, who is living with advanced kidney cancer himself, recently launched the program and a representative of the organization will be throwing out a ceremonial first pitch to raise awareness for the campaign.
