Jon Meloan pitched six strong innings and Terry Tiffee added four hits to an 11-3 Las Vegas win over Fresno. James McDonald and Danny Muegge allowed only four hits but Jacksonville dropped a 3-2 decision to Carolina. Inland Empire allowed five unearned runs in the cold and lost to High Desert 9-8. Fort Wayne won the fourth of five meetings with Great Lakes 9-3.
