Eric Stults pitched well as Las Vegas topped Portland 6-1. Lucas May's three hits as the leadoff man helped Jacksonville top Mobile 6-5. Inland Empire lost a 7-4 game to Lake Elsinore after leading 4-0 and Great Lakes made things easy for Victor Garate to collect his fourth win, topping Fort Wayne 9-4. The DSL Dodgers edged the Marlins 8-7 to open the season 3-0.
