Kuroda Close to Coming Back

Right-hander Hiroki Kuroda may be getting close to rejoining the team almost two months after opening day, when he made his only start of the season to date. Kuroda suffered a mildly strained left oblique muscle in his regular bullpen session following that first start. He was shelved two days later and has been on the disabled list ever since.

Kuroda made his second rehabilitation start for Class A Inland Empire on Wednesday night against Modesto and was touched for seven runs (five earned) on nine hits over five innings, but the fact he was able to get so deep into the game was the important thing.
