Ogden Struggles to Put Missoula Away
The Raptors built a 5-0 lead going into the eighth but quickly coughed up four runs to Missoula and escaped with a 5-4 decision. Four hits and a throwing error by shortstop Bryant Hernandez allowed the tying run to reach base before Daigoro Rondon recorded the final four outs to nail down his sixth save for a 5-4 win.

Starter Luis Vasquez (3-3) came up with his best game of the year, working six shutout innings while striking out six. He allowed only four hits and did not issue a walk. Joe Paxson allowed four runs, two earned, in his only inning before Rondon rode to the rescue.

Ogden scored in the first on Brian Ruggiano's leadoff double and later scored on Brian Cavazos-Galvez's sacrifice fly. The game stayed 1-0 into the seventh when it seemed the Raptors had broken it open.

Hernandez walked to open the inning and with one out, singles by Ruggiano and Pedro Guerrero drove in the first run. Cavazos-Galvez knocked in Ruggiano with a single and Clay Calfee's two-run single boosted the Raptors lead to 5-0.

Rondon allowed just a two-out single in the ninth, giving Ogden its second win over Missoula in four meetings this year. The Osprey have lost five straight overall while Ogden has won four of five and three of four to begin its home-stand.

Ruggiano led the attack with three hits and boosted his average to .378. Calfee, just back from Great Lakes, singled twice.

The clubs continue their four-game series tonight when righties Brett Wallach and Enrique Burgos meet start at Lindquist Field.
