The Dodgers today announced their preliminary schedule for the 2010 regular season, which begins in Pittsburgh on Monday, April 5 and features Opening Day at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, April 13 vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. The annual Jackie Robinson Day celebration will follow on Thursday, April 15.
The Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim will visit Dodger Stadium as part of Interleague Play, as will the New York Yankees, who return Friday, June 25–Sunday, June 27 for the first time since 2004.
On the road, Interleague Play takes the Dodgers to Anaheim for the traditional home-and-home series, as well as to Fenway Park to play the Boston Red Sox.
The Dodgers will play at home on Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day. They close the regular season at home with a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks after a six-game road trip to Arizona and Colorado.
The team has two 10-day homestands, April 29–May 9 and May 31–June 9. The longest road trip of the season starts Labor Day, September 6, and continues through September 16. It includes visits to San Diego, Houston, and San Francisco.
In addition to the schedule, the Dodgers are announcing that fans who purchase 2010 season seats now through October 4 (the end of the 2009 regular season), can purchase tickets to all potential 2009 Dodgers home postseason games. Fans can call 866 DODGERS or visit www.dodgers.com.
The Dodgers’ 2010 official schedule and promotional calendar will be announced after the conclusion of the 2009 season.
