Dodgers Lose Hoffmann, Tomlin in Rule V Draft

Los Angeles lost two outfielders, Jamie Hoffmann and James Tomlin, in the Rule V Draft in the Winter Meetings in Indianapolis and picked up a pair of pitchers in the bargain, RHP Carlos Monasterios from Philadelphia by way of the Mets and RHP Raul Burgos from San Francisco.

Monasterios, who will be 24 next March, was signed by the Yankees out of Venezuela, sent to their rookie club in the Gulf Coast League and then traded to the Phillies in mid-season. Signed by the Yankees in 2006, traded to Philadelphia in mid-season.
