Manny Ramirez re-aggrivated the right calf pull that bothered him during the recent homestand and was placed on the Disabled List. The leg was originally hurt in the opening series with Pittsburgh and the Dodgers have shut him down to keep from re-injuring it

Ramirez was off to a hot start, hitting .415 with an even .500 on-base percentage and a .659 slugging average. He underwent an MRI after the final game of the Cincinnati series.

The Dodgers recalled outfielder Xavier Paul, who was burning up te Pacific Coast league in Albuquerque. The 25-year-old was selected inn the fourth round of the 2003 draft.

Paul was hitting .361 with the Isotopes, ninth inn the PCL, with three home runs and nine runs batted in over 13 games.

He saw limited action with the Dodgers last season, going 3-for-14 (.214) over 11 games after being called up in May but a skin infection resulting from diving for a ball on artificial turf sidelined him and then an ankle injury cost him the rest of the seasn. With Albuquerque in 2009, Paul hit .328 in 31 games before the recall.
