The Dodgers led the National League in relief pitching in 2003, posting a 2.46 earned run average. The nearly did it again in 2004 (3.01), losing the title on the final day when they lost a meaningless game to the Giants by a 10-0 margin. In 2005 the situation reversed itself, with L.A. finishing 10th in the league (4.36) and the were fourth in 2006 with a 4.92 ERA.
