Vegas was held to five hits and lost an 8-2 decision to Colorado Springs. Ogden opened their season with a 4-3 win over Orem, with Paul Coleman earning his first win. The Gulf Coasties scored nine in the ninth to win 16-10 in their opener as Lyndon Poole doubled twice and knocked in three in the big inning. The Suns were rained out and both Inland Empire and Great Lakes was on an all-star break.
