Jon Meloan won his fourth game as Las Vegas edged Portland 4-3 and Jacksonville got great pitching from James McDonald, who retired 17 Beavers in succession, but Portland took a 5-2 decision. Great Lakes dropped their fourth in a row, this one a 5-4 loss in 10 innings to Fort Wayne. Inland Empire had the day off.
