No matter how many times a manager says he will rest his catcher to keep him fresh throughout the season, if he is instrumental to a team winning, they will do as Joe Torre did when he used twenty-five year old Russell Martin behind the plate for the Dodgers in 149 games in 2008, setting an all-time Dodger record formerly held by Mike Piazza.
