Birmingham held off Chattanooga 7-3 and the Lookouts playoff died. Carlos Alvarado allowed no runs and three hits as the 'Topes topped Iowa 5-1. Inland Empire beat Lancaster 6-5 to break a four-game losing streak. A contested sacrifice fly allowed Fort Wayne to edge Great Falls 1-0. Two errors cost Ogden in a 6-5 Orem win.
