-Alex Castellanos doubled his homer total tonight, also drawing his 10th walk to give him a 1.238 OPS thru the team's first 16 games. With the Dodgers struggling to find offense beyond Kemp and Ethier, I wouldn't be surprised to see Castellanos given a shot if he continues to rake. Michael Antonini allowed just 1 run in 5.2 innings, earning his first win of the season. Scott Van Slyke got a well-deserved night off.
-The Lookouts struggled on offense and couldn't hold an early 2-1 lead. Allen Webster allowed 8 hits, which is something to watch going forward. Wise doubled and Lemmerman singled twice while drawing a walk. Red Patterson allowed just 1 hit over 3 innings in relief.
-Zach Lee started and struggled, allowing 10 hits in 6.1 innings, including 2 homers. However, he did strike out 9 without walking a batter. However, the night belonged to the offense and Chris Jacobs, who compiled 11 total bases after homering twice (in the 1st and 2nd innings), doubling and singling. After starting out 0 for his first 14, Big Jake is 7 for his last 11 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs. Gallagher added a grand slam, Nick Akins had 3 hits, Delmonico had a pair and Tyler Henson doubled and threw a batter out at home.
-Great Lakes is attempting to outdo last year's pitching staff, winning a 2-1 contest today behind Jarret Martin. Martin struck out 11 in 5.1 innings, allowing just 1 run to lower his ERA to 1.64 and win his first game of the season. Juan Noriega pitched 1.2 scoreless innings and hasn't allowed a single run yet in 10 innings. Yimi Garcia recorded his 2nd save and has struck out 10 batters in 6 innings. Justin Boudreaux and Devin Shines scored the team's runs, with James Baldwin stealing his 4th and 5th bases. He also struck out 3 times, giving him 19 in 12 games.
