Hometown: Hillsboro, OR
Current Team: Western Oregon
Position: P

ANALYSIS: A.J. Burke is a right-hander from Western Oregon University, which is the school that Dan Straily began his career at before transferring to Marshall. Burke, an Oregon native, is a fifth-year senior. He had a 2.78 ERA and 91 strike-outs in 90.2 innings. Burke walked only 20 and allowed just two homeruns. He earned league pitcher of the year honors for his standout season. Before this season, Burke had split time between the rotation and the bullpen. Burke was an all-conference quarterback in high school.

Height: 6-4
Weight: 175
Hometown: Gaithersburg, MD
Current Team: UNC-Greensboro
Position: P
Bats: R

ANALYSIS: Dominique Vattuone is the latest in a line of players drafted by the A's out of UNC-Greensboro in recent years. Jermaine Mitchell, Blake Hassebrock, Rob Gilliam and Tyler Hollstegge are among the others who have gone from UNC-G to the A's. Vattuone struck-out 43 in 44.1 innings this season, although he had an inflated ERA of 7.31. He was used exclusively as a reliever. Long and lanky, Vattuone has some good life on his fastball and he improved his command during his senior season.

Player: Joe Michaud
Height: 6-4
Weight: 200
Hometown: Milford, CT
Current Team: Bryant
Position: P

ANALYSIS: Joseph Michaud split his 2013 season at Bryant between starting and relieving, making nine starts and five relief appearances. In 63 innings, he posted a 3.00 ERA and a 61:28 K:BB ratio. He was a mid-week starter and a weekend reliever. Michaud isn't a flame-thrower, but he has a plus breaking ball and can touch 90 with his fastball.

Round

Player: A.J. Kubala
Height: 6-0
Weight: 205
Hometown: St. Johns, FL
Current Team: Arlington Country Day
Position: 1B
Bats: R
Throws: R
ANALYSIS: A.J. Kubala is a powerful right-handed hitting first-baseman who attended the same high school as Chicago Cubs' top prospect Javier Baez. Kubala has a college commitment to Kennesaw State. Kubala played mostly first baseman, but he also has seen time in the outfield. He has a strong throwing arm and has been clocked in the upper-80s on the mound.

Player: A.J. Puckett
Height: 6-3
Weight: 175
Hometown: Danville, CA
Current Team: De La Salle HS, CA
Position: P
Bats: R
Throws: R
ANALYSIS: Local product A.J. Puckett is a Pepperdine signee. The right-handed pitcher has a projectable frame. He was the ace of the Spartans pitching staff this season. Puckett has excellent fastball command and a promising curveball. Puckett grew up an A's fan, but it may be hard to buy him out of a Pepperdine commitment at this draft slot.

Hometown: Yuba City, CA
Current Team: Yuba City HS, CA

Hometown: Oakland, CA
Current Team: Bishop O'Dowd HS, CA
