Rafael Furcal, who has struggled throughout most of the season with a sub-.250 batting average, became incandescent in Washington, battering Nationals pitching for a blistering .714 average (10-for-14) and was instrumental in the Dodgers 7-6 win that cut their magic number to a neat, trim one (1).
